Hi everyone...a few months ago I asked Aymeric the question during a live session about creating a French Cup on the game...it's clearly missing and it could be fun to set it up. He wasn't against it but was wondering how to organise it or integrate it into the calendar...

With your help we could improve my basic idea... Concerning the frequency: One edition every two seasons (112 days) so as not to overload the other competitions and this is exactly the model that is used in real life over two seasons ... This obviously only concerns clubs that play in a French league
Regional rounds:
Clubs in divisions 1 and 2 are exempt from the preliminary rounds in their region and go straight into the round of 32
Clubs in lower divisions play preliminary rounds in their region
From the Round of 32 onwards, a full draw will be held without distinction of level, based solely on the clubs entered in each region. As far as the financial endowments are concerned, they follow the basic system of the French Football Federation
As far as the calendar is concerned, it could be fun to play without overloading the calendar too much... and interesting to follow...

I like the idea 👍 I'll have to see if it's not too hard to organise, but personally I think it's cool.

Why not integrate the jerseys into the VF store? It's a good idea ✅

If you take the D1 and D2 clubs straight into the Round of 32, you're bound to have a problem, aren't you?

23 French championships + 2 vf masters and sublime or don't you count them?
Just for the French D1 championships
So 23 championships x 8 clubs in D1 = 184
And for D2, 16 clubs because 2 groups in D2: 23 x16 = 368

That would still make 552 clubs in the round of 32

Enter only the D1 clubs, but that would "almost" mean playing in the VFFA and Champions League together

Over 2 seasons, that could put a real strain on the calendar

For the lower divisions, registering only active clubs would reduce the number of participants
Personally, I think that in order not to overload everyone's calendar (especially the big ones), the cup should be played over 4 seasons 😅 This is, of course, only an opinion

No VF Masters or Sublime League as these are separate championships... otherwise, yes, exactly, so the aim would be to reduce the number of clubs in the 32nd finals to 256 or 128
Each region would therefore qualify 5 or 6 clubs at the end of the regional rounds ... so possibly playing more advanced preliminary rounds we could envisage having the division 2 clubs enter directly in the third round and the D1 clubs in the 4th regional round

As far as I'm concerned, the calendar is already full enough. Even more so when you consider that cup matches no longer displace friendlies, and that the admins have already had to intervene in the last Christmas tournament, which lasted two seasons.

As far as I'm concerned, if it's going to be like the Christmas tournament, it should be organised over 2 mini seasons
Because there's likely to be a lot of people

Personally, I think it's a good idea to do away with regional cuts.
